The project is a collaboration between UNO, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, MCI (Management Center Innsbruck, Austria), and Technical University of Braunschweig (TUB, Germany). The EU partners receive an equivalent sum from the EU counterpart of FIPSE. The funds are primarily for student and faculty mobility for education and research activities within the overall theme.

(IT-coordinator) (1/1/2009-12/31/2010; In progress). “US-Russia Partnership for Technology, Language, and Cultural Exchange.” $398,103 grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This grant is a partnership between UNO and Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) to jointly develop educational opportunities between the two nations, particularly in the areas of mutual foreign language learning through access to and the use of Information Technology (IT) capabilities. In this project, we are developing an innovative user-friendly Russian-English multimedia web-based portal to teach Russian and English as a Second Language.

Munkvold, B.E., Moe, C.E, Khazanchi, D. and Zigurs, I. (2008-2011; In progress). ” Partnerships in Higher Education Norway – North America 2008-2011″. University of Agder (UiA), Kristiansand, Norway and UNO’s IS&T collaborated to obtain a grant of nearly $260,000 for 3.5 years from the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (an agency under the Ministry of Education and Research) to continue and extend the partnership between UiA and UNO. Khazanchi will serve as the Project Director for administering the grant on the UNO campus. The grant will fund large student exchanges between the two universities (35 students each way) and allow faculty and researchers to visit each campus for workshops and to establish and expand research collaborations.
